Two names from Oceana have been confirmed for the Tango In Tonga a celebration of the Birthday of Crown Prince Tupouto'a-'Ulukala on 16 and 17 September.
Half-Nelson McGrath
Easily the strongest Australian Heavyweight. Trained by Bert Oakley for two years, McGrath developed into a formidable Heavyweight but of recent months has not given much attention to his training. He holds the crown of Australian Rookie of the Year 2023 and was victorious in the Queensland Open Poundage Cup earlier this year, taking home not just the trophy but a cheque for $5,000.
He has yet to compete outside of his home country and is hoping that a strong performance in Tonga may see promoters in Europe and America take an interest.
Geo 'Gun Slinger' Irslinger
For seven years the unofficial Light Heavyweight Champion of the World with victorious in Japan, New Zealand and Australia. This Auckland born Heavy-Middleweight has been a professional for 13 years, but often comes undone due to his own lack of concentration in the final stages of a contest.
One of the best at his weight classification outside of the top promoters stables, a former Rugby Union player.
