Former World Lightweight Champion JOHNNY FRESNO has become the first competitor to officially sign with KING GEORGE VI WRESTLING CLUB since its licence was returned by the Admiral-Lord Mountevans Committee.
Matchmaker EDWIN LUNTLEY was keen to snap up the fan-favourite who lost his Lightweight crown to Mexican great METALLICA PANTHER III in April 2020 before regaining it back the following month.
Fresno was forced to sacrifice the championship in September 2021 after suffering a broken ankle when he was knocked off his bicycle while competing in a charity race.
Over the last two and a half years, Fresno has reduced the amount of in-ring appearances as he concentrates on his business activities. Fresno's cousin BILLY EAGLE is a far more regular competitor in British rings and grapple fans won't be surprised to know he is also in talks to join KING GEORGE VI WRESTLING CLUB.
