Great Britain & Ireland Amateur Challenge

Back in the golden era of British wrestling where we take a huge amount of inspiration, all wrestlers had a solid background in amateur wrestling, coming through the ranks of local clubs and gyms.

Therefore in October and November we will run an 8 Man Catchweight & 8 Woman Tournaments to crown the Amateur Great Britain & Ireland Wrestling Champions.

All characters must be amateurs and have not turned professional ie debuted. I’d recommend an age range of 16 to 22.

All characters must be from the UK or Ireland, I may stretch to either a European or Commonwealth country if compelled with a solid backstory.

The winner gets the crown of being the Amateur Champion (an accolade that doesn’t get lost in the ring, similar to a Grand Slam or PGA tour win) a title shot at their division’s British (or European/Commonwealth) championship.

Semi Finals and Finals will be shown on On The Mat and Out For The Count on The Super Channel, preliminary rounds will most likely take place at Live Events.

The winner can ‘turn pro’ and join the full time roster immediately, if the handler desires. All other characters are welcome to ‘turn pro’ but will be asked to wait to make it realistic and not cheapen the tournaments value.

Hopefully this is a fun way to try out a secondary character, who may be a younger sibling or second generation wrestler.
