APPLICATION TO BE GRANTED A LICENSE TO PROMOTE PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
I am writing to confirm that the Admiral-Lord Mountevans Committee, known from this point as ‘The Committee’ met on for a third time on 14 August 2024 to discuss your application to be granted a license to promote Professional Wrestling under the jurisdiction of the Folding Press and Pugilism Act 1948.
The Committee would like to acknowledge your apology for the incident which occurred in May 2020 and also acknowledge that you fully complied with the Banning Order dated 15 June 2020 and paid the fine of £750 within the required thirty-one days.
The Committee also recognises your disappointment that there is no longer any Television wrestling broadcast in Great Britain since the cancellation of On The Mat, following the above mentioned incident in May 2020.
The Committee also recognises that applications for a license to promote Professional Wrestling under the jurisdiction of the Folding Press and Pugilism Act 1948, was turned down in March 2021, September 2022, February 2023, January 2024, May 2024, June 2024 and July 2024 .
Following your representations made to The Committee on 1 August and written submissions, The Committee is pleased to award you a Temporary 12 month License to promote Professional Wrestling under the jurisdiction of the Folding Press and Pugilism Act 1948.
Once again The Committee must make the following stipulations clear, any breach of these tenets and the Temporary 12 month License to promote Professional Wrestling under the jurisdiction of the Folding Press and Pugilism Act 1948 will ne revoked.
- There shall be no Man v Women wrestling
- All Championship contest weight limits must be strictly enforced
- Governance changes made to King George VI Wreslting Club, including the appointment of a Secretary/Chief Executive/chef de mission.
- You pay your licence fee of £43.99 within 7 days of the receipt of this letter.
