Barry Bridges’ cosy living room, filled with wrestling memorabilia. Barry is lounging on his sofa, his loyal spaniel, Kendo, resting beside him. He strokes the dog gently, but there’s a fire in his eyes.
Bridges: Well, Kendo, here we go again. This time, it’s Jamaica—October 19th—and I’ve got not one, but two to face. George Thompson, top-ranked heavyweight in Britain, and Half-Nelson McGrath, the man who took my British Heavyweight Championship last month.
[He glances at the empty space on the shelf where the belt used to be, then looks back at Kendo.
Bridges: Losing to McGrath wasn’t easy. But you know what? It lit a fire in me. Half-Nelson’s strong, no doubt about that. He’s got that suplex of his, and he’ll throw anyone around the ring like a rag doll. But I’ve been knocked down before. Every time, I get back up stronger. This won’t be any different.
Barry shifts, his voice growing more focused.
Bridges: And George? Young, fast, powerful. Everyone’s talking about him being the future of British wrestling. But I’ve heard that before. There’s a lot of lads who’ve been called ‘the next big thing,’ and not many who’ve stuck around. George, you’ve got talent, but talent only gets you so far. When you step in the ring with someone like me, you’ll learn its experience that counts.
He tosses a toy for Kendo, who jumps off the couch to fetch it. Barry smiles, but his expression turns serious again.
Bridges: This match isn’t just a fight for a belt—it’s about reminding everyone that I’m not done yet. McGrath, you might have taken that title, but don’t get too comfortable. And George, you’re in for a wake-up call. I’ve still got fight left in me, more than either of you expect.
Kendo returns, tail wagging. Barry pats his head, his smile returning.
Bridges: Kendo, it’s time to show them all that this old dog’s still got plenty of bite.
The camera fades as Barry stares determinedly ahead, ready for his triple-threat match.
